The Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID)

The Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) program in elementary school helps students develop academic habits and higher-level thinking skills. The program's goal is to prepare students for success in middle school, high school, and college. 
 
The AVID program is embedded into the daily instruction of all elementary classrooms across all grade levels. AVID is available in 46 states and 16 countries. 
 
 
Students who may be a good fit for the AVID program include those who: Have a GPA of 2.0–3.5, Have a desire to attend college, Have a good attendance record, and Are willing to prepare for college.
